Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) is an association founded by students for students with the goal of fostering relationships, learning and sharing experiences. AMSA Malaysia is the oldest and largest medical association in Malaysia established by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1983. Since then, the Malaysian “chapter” of AMSA has welcomed 16 different medical schools. AMSA Malaysia has created many innovative concepts, programmes and events. This includes the Medics Intervarsity Games (MIVG), an annual intervarsity sporting event in which University of Cyberjaya (UoC) medical students participate. Annually, AMSA announces a theme for community service, and each member university is given autonomy to create a plan of action which ranges from hosting academic events and motivational seminars to undertaking research and holding public health awareness talks and programmes.
